Quick update.. Just spent the past few days with the Adkins Family - what a wonderful time. Thom is Tim's high school friend. One of only a handful of friends that have stayed in touch throughout the years. Their children Zach, Thom, and Jasmine were a delight.
Tim's oldest brother will be visiting soon so we'll be heading to Breckenridge to see the family and get our snow on!
Well got to go and shovel the driveway and see Alvin and the Chipmunks.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

It is a miracle, I am updating!
I have been terrible in updating this blog. I can tell you all that life is busy but that is no excuse. We are doing well. Tim is busy with his job.He has been offered another command. It looks like we will not be leaving here until June 2011. We are pleased to stay another year in Colorado but were looking forward to moving.
Our kiddos are swell. They amaze us.
Time to wrap some presents. Hope all have a great Christmas. I will try to write more often, no guarantees.

End of Summer
Hi I know it has been ages since I last wrote anything. Please forgive me. I have been enjoying the summer with the kids. We have been doing camps and trying to travel. We went to Grand Junction, CO last weekend. What a great time.
Tim has been in command for a month now. He is a busy man. I am the FRG leader for the company. So you can imagine how busy my year will be. I am planning a great bunko meeting. I hope that I will get 12 ladies to participate.
My kids are doing great. David is going to be 10 in less than 6 weeks. I can't believe it. My girls keep my busy. They want to keep swimming instead of soccer. I tell you from the ice rink to the pool. What an extreme!
I have been exercising and have been sore the past few weeks. My kids say I am walking like a granny but I feel more rejuvenated. Life is grand!!

It is June!
I can't believe that it has been more than three weeks since I last wrote. We are finally on summer break and the kids and I are enjoying it. Today my two girls took a long afternoon nap. They sure needed it. I loved how quiet the house was if only for two hours.
Tim and I enjoyed our mini trip to New England. I love the area but I hate the traffic. We ate some great seafood, had lots of wine and enjoyed our time together. I am one lucky lady to have a great hubby.
I am trying to organize our fun summer activities. I think that we need to get out of Colorado Springs on the weekends. I hope that we can manage it.
Everyone enjoy the summer break!!!

It is May!
My beauty, Moira.
Tim is in the last row, 2nd to the left.
My gorgeous daughter, Karina
Rocketboy David!
Happy May and Happy Spring!!!
I was so happy this weekend. My son and I had to build a rocket with engines and igniters from scratch for Boy Scouts. It took flight and was the only rocket that stayed intact for two flights. The other kids rockets lost wings, broke in two, and exploded. My son was so proud of his mom. We followed directions and took 2 weeks to finish. It was a great rewarding experience. Now I have to go on a overnight camping trip in two weeks. I hope that the weather will play nice.
My middle daughter is suffering from a bad case of the flu. She has been home bound since Friday. She is slowly recovering. I am glad my parents are visiting because I would have been in trouble this rocket weekend.
I am posting some current pictures of my kids. I also posted one picture of Tim at his Iraq work place. He is in a staff position currently. Not like previous tours where he is patrolling or working with the Iraqis.
School is almost out and fun summer begins. My kids are ready for swimming lessons, basketball camp, science camp, art camp, and hockey camp. They sure keep me busy.
My Tim gets his command on June 3oth. It will be nice to see him get his SF company command.

New Baby Niece in the Family
I am so happy! My youngest brother's baby girl was born this past weekend. She is healthy. Her name is Aracely Martinez. I can't wait to meet her.
The kids are fine. We are off to our boy scout meeting. They are shooting off rockets this weekend. I still have to help David put it together. I hope it doesn't blow up in our faces. We shall see.
I am ready for Summer. My Tim will be home and then we will be a family again. I can;t wait to see him. My birthday, mother's day and our wedding anniversary are coming up. We will celebrate when he gets home. We are thinking of taking a family trip to someplace fun. Anybody have any suggestions?

Snow for Easter?
It is funny. We really wanted snow for Christmas but instead got lots of sun. It seems that we will have a White Easter this year. We have tickets to see the Avalanche play today but the road conditions are worrisome. My son will be heartbroken if we do not get to go. I am hoping the sun shines through.
All is well with us. Tim mentioned that he might get home around June 5th. I can't wait to see him. I think he might get a week off. Let us hope. We want to get out of Colorado Springs. I am looking into going to South Dakota to check out Mount Rushmore. We will see.
Hope everyone has a nice Easter. The kids have a nice four day weekend. We saw the Monster VS Alien movie. It was okay. We also went to the nice Fine Art Museum. What treasures they have there. I have plans to take them to the Olympic Center and Garden of the Gods outpost on Monday. I am trying to see all the great CO sights before we have to pack up and move again. Once the weather is much warmer we will have to do Denver.
My parents will be here in less than three days. It will nice to see them. They are excited to see the grand kids.
I have a great friend that is being reunited with her husband after a long year deployment in Iraq. I know that she is excited and nervous for the reunion. I feel happy for families that get reunited after being apart for so long. Congrats to the Peek family.

Colorado
We have been here in Colorado for 10 months and I am really starting to like it here. We have about two more years and then we move again. I can see why people decide to retire here. I think that we might consider retiring here after our military career. Our next tour I am hoping we can either go to Germany or a nice beach location. I loved living in Monterey, California. Maybe we can go to Florida this time. It is currently very windy and cold. David has flag football this afternoon and I am hoping that the sun comes out.
I spoke with Tim this morning and he sounds fine. He is working a lot but seems to enjoy what he is doing. He should be home the first week of June. I hope he gets some days off so we may go on a family trip somewhere.
The kids are fine. They get smarter, funnier and a bit more daring as they get older.
We are off to church this morning. It is Palm Sunday. I hope that my middle child doesn't vomit like last weekend. She told me this morning that she thinks she will do better this morning. This time I will sit in the back. Just in case we have to run out!!!

They are back to school
I thought the ugly cold weather had disappeared. Well, this morning it is 29 degrees and light snow. I took the kids to school this morning. Now I need to balance the checkbook and play on the computer for a while. I discovered my youngest dressing up in her brother's hockey gear. I took several pictures and I want to share with you. I think I have my next hockey player.
My parents are coming to visit in about two weeks. It will be nice to have some help with the kids. They love to hang out with the grand kids.
My youngest brother is expecting his first child any day now. He lives in San Diego, CA. I can't wait to hear the news...boy or girl!

Is Spring Break Almost Over?
The kids have been home for the past week. We have been to museums, pool, ice rink, library, playgrounds, grocery store, played board games and survived the two day blizzard. It has been nice having them all home and not having to taxi them to practices, meetings etc. The madness starts again on Monday. David will start hockey spring league (Monday's and Wednesday's) and then he signed up for flag football at school (games and practices are on Sunday afternoons), Karina is signed up for soccer (do not know the days yet), Moira is doing Saturday morning soccer. Life gets busy!!
I am posting some pictures of David winning their squirt division hockey championship. It was fun to see them be victorious.
Tim is doing fine. They keep him super busy. I spoke with him yesterday.
The blizzard that hit the area was quite rough. I had to shovel snow from the front of our yard. It was quite time consuming. I am glad that we only get ugly snow storms once a year. I am so ready for Spring.

Tim leaves for awhile
Tim is taking off this Monday. He will be working for an SF general in Iraq. He should return in late June. We have a lot planned for this weekend. The kids and I are busy. David is playing his championship game this Sunday. They had their semifinal game tonight. It was so much fun to watch. We hope they will win on Sunday. They get a cool trophy. Just wanted to update on deployment status.

It is cold again!
We have been having really warm weather for the past two weeks. This morning we woke up to flurries and cold, cold weather. I was hoping that spring was on its way. I can't complain too much. I know that in other parts of the country it is bitterly cold.
Tim will be returning to Iraq next week. He will be there for about 4 months. He has to work for some SF general. I was a bit upset because he hasn't been home for more than three months at a time. I know that once this Fort Carson tour is over he will be home more often. He gets his company command in June and that will be a long year. It is different in the SF world compared to regular Army. You get your company command as a major not as a captain. Tim has worked hard to get to this point and I am proud of him. I do like the tax free money. It is great come tax time. I hate that we will miss our anniversary again this year. To all my friends, hug your husbands, significant others and treasure their company.
The kids are doing fine. David has his hockey championship this week. He is very excited. I hope they win.
I volunteered this past Friday for our PTO Lenten soup night. It was a fun event. The soups were actually pretty delicious.

March 2009
Can you all believe that it is March all ready? We have had great weather for the past two days, 70 degrees. I am really starting to love Colorado Springs. I think I wouldn't mind retiring here. Karina's birthday party was fun. The kids loved the bear shop. Moira's birthday is in three weeks. We are having it at the pool. SHe will be four. Time sure flies. We had some old friends from the 101st(Ft Campbell) over last night. It was great talking about our young days. NOw we are all involved with PTOS, etc. Tim is ready to take his company. He can't wait until June. He might be heading to Iraq for a while. This is the SF life. Lots of short deployments (6 months).........

Finally some pictures...
Number 24, David during hockey practice.
This is Moira wait to get into the basketball game....
This is Moira's attempt to do the hula hoop at the sock n hop.
THe school held a SOCK N HOP evening social. We got dressed in our best 50's attire. The girls enjoyed dancing and drinking soda pop.
This is behind the kids school, around 730 am, it was a great way to start the day.
Just one of our nice snow storms, about 6 inches, the kids played in the backyard.
We took the kids to Denver, ate at the cheesecake factory, 16th street mall, and then to a hockey game. we had a great time....
This is during one of our hiking trips. We were at the Garden of the Gods....beautiful weather and great hike. Moira was tired and needed to be carried the last part of the hike.We just had our taxes done and surprised about our huge tax refund. Having three kids sure does help. Also, being tax free for ten months also helps. I tell Tim that I will be ready for another tax free long deployment in another two years. We should be leaving Colorado in two years and hopefully it will be to someplace overseas. The kids will be older and easier to travel.
For all my military friends....the registration for operation purple camp is MArch 16th. It is a great opportunity for kids to participate in a summer camp free of charge. Just google operation purple camp and you will get all the information. I am thinking of registering our oldest for this camp.

Lot has happened
I have been lazy not writing for a couple of weeks. I just have been busy and I know that is not an excuse. The kids are healthy and growing. My Karina lost two teeth and she will be six in 4 days. We are having her birthday at build a bear. She is enjoying her basketball season on Fort Carson and her learn to ice skate lessons. Moira is in basketball and ice skating as well. David is still doing hockey and getting better. My two boys love to watch hockey on the big tv. We recently bought a 2009 Ford Mustang. It is a beauty. It is primarily Tim's car. Our 1995 Honda Accord blew up. All my catholic friends....start thinking about what to give up for Lent. I am going to try to give up sodas. I want to just drink tea, water and juice. I hope that I won't get a bad craving.....will power!!! During lent the kids must attend mass twice a week, Monday and Friday. They attend a catholic school. My parents will be here in several days. They are having their home remodeled and need some place to stay. The kids are anxious.

Goood Morning!
Hi, I know that it has been ages since I lasted posted any news. I have been extremely busy. I involved with the PTO and yesterday was sure busy. The school held a nice sock and hop in the gymnasium. My girls got all dressed up and we headed off to the event. I was in charge of the refreshment table. It was a fun evening. David and Tim went to a hockey game.....air force played the army. Army lost 5-1. The arena was packed, Go Army! David is currently in a nice etiquette class. He attends every Wednesday evening until March 21st at the Broadmoor Hotel. The Broadmoor is a gorgeous hotel.....top 5 star. (I get to chaperon this coming week. I have to get all dressed up and wear white gloves). The kids school sponsors this nice class. They learn the proper way to ask a girl to dance, table manners, etc. He is so handsome in his suit. He is learning the fox trot and the waltz. I took pictures of all these events. Also the two girls wanted to try basketball this year. They try their hardest. I will post pictures soon. Hope everyone is staying warm. The weather has been a bit mild....nice for us.

Life is busy, again
Hi, ALL. We are doing well. Back to school, hockey, scouts, music lessons...etc. Our girls started their first ice skating lesson this morning. I was more nervous than they were...they did awesome. David has sure got the whole family hooked on ice skating. My two men went to a local college hockey game last night and my son learns some great vulgar language. I have volunteered to be the newborn coordinator for Tim's work place. I have to go to a SF family readiness group this afternoon. I figured I would take the easiest job...it has to do with newborns. I have to take the nice gift from HHC to the family after their delivery. I like to take a nice fruit basket and welcome their new bundle of joy. Too easy! We will see if it is easy, I will keep you posted......post pictures soon, I promise.

Happy New Year!
2009, WOW!!! I hope that everyone brought in the New Year with family and friends. We rented a movie and had some glasses of champagne. The kids were sleeping of course! Santa brought the kids lots of goodies. Tim and David have been enjoying guitar hero. I have tried it but it is rather difficult. My two boys think they are rock star material......
School resumes on Monday and the kids are ready. Tomorrow is hockey and Sunday is church & preparations for school.

Two Week School Break
The kids are thrilled that school is out! They had a great little Advent program at school on Thursday night. Karina likes to pretend she is Mary. She says that Mary takes good care of baby Jesus. David will be performing during Christmas mass. He is in the choir.
We have plans to go skiing and snow shoeing this coming week. Also, my parents and brother will be here. We wish everyone a Merry Christmas! Tim and I are glad to be together this year. God Bless everyone!

Snow Day
Today the kids are home due to the snowy weather. David is excited about sledding down the hill. We are lucky to live by a great sledding area. He will have a great time today. The girls will probably just hang around and play dolls.
