Two Week School Break

The kids are thrilled that school is out! They had a great little Advent program at school on Thursday night. Karina likes to pretend she is Mary. She says that Mary takes good care of baby Jesus. David will be performing during Christmas mass. He is in the choir.
We have plans to go skiing and snow shoeing this coming week. Also, my parents and brother will be here. We wish everyone a Merry Christmas! Tim and I are glad to be together this year. God Bless everyone!

Snow Day

Today the kids are home due to the snowy weather. David is excited about sledding down the hill. We are lucky to live by a great sledding area. He will have a great time today. The girls will probably just hang around and play dolls.

Tim is Home

Tim made it home on the 2ND of December. He called me that morning and told me that he would be in that evening. Talk about surprises......it is nice having him home. The kids are thrilled. David has made hockey plans, Karina wants piggy back rides and Moira wants to be turned upside down.......they each have special requests. I was invited to a movie and lunch tomorrow. I will probably miss the kids and wonder what Tim is letting them get away with. We have a busy weekend. David has two hockey games, birthday party, and a visit to Santa Claus.

My parents and Grandma Visiting

It sure has been a nice week. I have been busy with my parents and grandma. She is 74 years old and has great stories to tell. She is recovering from a bad case of shingles. I highly recommend that people over the age of 60 get the new shingles vaccine. She was very ill and in a lot of pain. She has luckily recovered. Check out this website, www.webmd.com/skin-problems-and-treatments/shingles/shingles-topic-overview
I have told my parents to get the vaccine once they return to New Mexico. Please tell your parents or grandparents about this vaccine.
The kids school does a great program called grandparents day. They have mass, choir program ( David and Karina participated), and nice luncheon. This was held yesterday. It was wonderful. I hope that my in laws will be able to attend next year!
The kids are off today and we are just hanging out. We will be placing the Christmas tree up and have hockey practice this evening. I am also thinking of surprising the kids and taking them to see the movie Bolt.
I have a special treat for David tomorrow night. It was originally suppose to be Tim and David but now he has to attend a hockey game with me. It is the US Air force Academy against Colorado Springs University (CCU). It will be a great game....CCU is ranked highly and the academy is 10-0. FUN!!!
I will post pictures of the latest events on my next post. Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!

Christmas Packages and Kids Christmas Wish List

I am so pleased that I have organized all my packages and will mail the day after Thanksgiving. I plan to work on my Christmas cards this weekend. It sure is a lot of work.

I am still not finished with the shopping for the kids. I did get Tim's gift....a nice big gift certificate to REI and I also had a professional photo shop touch up our wedding picture. I had it framed and I wrote something from the heart . I can't believe that it will be 14 years in May 2009. I was 21 years old when I married. Time sure flies. I tell him that he is much sexier now than when he was in his young 20's. I sure miss him!
David is asking Santa for a digital camera, wii game, Calvin and Hobbs books, bow and arrow, hockey jersey, .....and it goes on forever. The older they get they seem to want more and the list is much longer and more detailed. We will get him a camera, fishing trip, and books. Karina and Moira are into dolls, stuffed animals, and makeup. I should say the girls are still pretty easy to shop for. We are planning to get them each a new bike, some dolls, and a trip to Build a bear workshop. I am very thankful that we are able to afford these items. It is sad to hear on the news about peoples' situations. I hope that the economy will take a turn for the better. Have a pleasant weekend.

Weeks Activities

This is Karina at her bi-weekly girl scout meetings.
Moira and karina waiting for hockey practice to be over.........

David (#24) hockey practice.
It has been a busy week. We had flu shots, dental appointments, girl scouts, ballet, guitar, hockey practice/games, choir and homework. The kids sure keep me busy.
Spoke with Tim today and he is well. He is on a routine and busy also. I sure do miss his company. We have done many deployments but they do not get any easier. When I get off the phone with him I wish he was home. It is tough having to recap a week with the kids because you sometimes forget things.
My parents and my abuelita (grandma) will be here this Saturday. They are here for the holiday. I am going to take them to the 10th SFG Thanksgiving meal. I like the idea because I do not have to cook!!

Gas is $1.84

Wow....drove up to the pump this morning to fill the van and couldn't believe my eyes, $1.84 a gallon. It cost me $25.00 to fill up the tank. This is the best news ever!!

Took the kids to get flu shots this morning. That was so much fun.
