They are back to school

Moira the future hockey star!

I thought the ugly cold weather had disappeared. Well, this morning it is 29 degrees and light snow. I took the kids to school this morning. Now I need to balance the checkbook and play on the computer for a while. I discovered my youngest dressing up in her brother's hockey gear. I took several pictures and I want to share with you. I think I have my next hockey player.
My parents are coming to visit in about two weeks. It will be nice to have some help with the kids. They love to hang out with the grand kids.
My youngest brother is expecting his first child any day now. He lives in San Diego, CA. I can't wait to hear the news...boy or girl!

Is Spring Break Almost Over?

The kids have been home for the past week. We have been to museums, pool, ice rink, library, playgrounds, grocery store, played board games and survived the two day blizzard. It has been nice having them all home and not having to taxi them to practices, meetings etc. The madness starts again on Monday. David will start hockey spring league (Monday's and Wednesday's) and then he signed up for flag football at school (games and practices are on Sunday afternoons), Karina is signed up for soccer (do not know the days yet), Moira is doing Saturday morning soccer. Life gets busy!!

I am posting some pictures of David winning their squirt division hockey championship. It was fun to see them be victorious.

Tim is doing fine. They keep him super busy. I spoke with him yesterday.

The blizzard that hit the area was quite rough. I had to shovel snow from the front of our yard. It was quite time consuming. I am glad that we only get ugly snow storms once a year. I am so ready for Spring.

Tim leaves for awhile

Tim is taking off this Monday. He will be working for an SF general in Iraq. He should return in late June. We have a lot planned for this weekend. The kids and I are busy. David is playing his championship game this Sunday. They had their semifinal game tonight. It was so much fun to watch. We hope they will win on Sunday. They get a cool trophy. Just wanted to update on deployment status.

It is cold again!

We have been having really warm weather for the past two weeks. This morning we woke up to flurries and cold, cold weather. I was hoping that spring was on its way. I can't complain too much. I know that in other parts of the country it is bitterly cold.

Tim will be returning to Iraq next week. He will be there for about 4 months. He has to work for some SF general. I was a bit upset because he hasn't been home for more than three months at a time. I know that once this Fort Carson tour is over he will be home more often. He gets his company command in June and that will be a long year. It is different in the SF world compared to regular Army. You get your company command as a major not as a captain. Tim has worked hard to get to this point and I am proud of him. I do like the tax free money. It is great come tax time. I hate that we will miss our anniversary again this year. To all my friends, hug your husbands, significant others and treasure their company.

The kids are doing fine. David has his hockey championship this week. He is very excited. I hope they win.

I volunteered this past Friday for our PTO Lenten soup night. It was a fun event. The soups were actually pretty delicious.

March 2009

Can you all believe that it is March all ready? We have had great weather for the past two days, 70 degrees. I am really starting to love Colorado Springs. I think I wouldn't mind retiring here. Karina's birthday party was fun. The kids loved the bear shop. Moira's birthday is in three weeks. We are having it at the pool. SHe will be four. Time sure flies. We had some old friends from the 101st(Ft Campbell) over last night. It was great talking about our young days. NOw we are all involved with PTOS, etc. Tim is ready to take his company. He can't wait until June. He might be heading to Iraq for a while. This is the SF life. Lots of short deployments (6 months).........

Finally some pictures...

Number 24, David during hockey practice.
This is Moira wait to get into the basketball game....

This is Moira's attempt to do the hula hoop at the sock n hop.

THe school held a SOCK N HOP evening social. We got dressed in our best 50's attire. The girls enjoyed dancing and drinking soda pop.

This is behind the kids school, around 730 am, it was a great way to start the day.

Just one of our nice snow storms, about 6 inches, the kids played in the backyard.

We took the kids to Denver, ate at the cheesecake factory, 16th street mall, and then to a hockey game. we had a great time....

This is during one of our hiking trips. We were at the Garden of the Gods....beautiful weather and great hike. Moira was tired and needed to be carried the last part of the hike.

We just had our taxes done and surprised about our huge tax refund. Having three kids sure does help. Also, being tax free for ten months also helps. I tell Tim that I will be ready for another tax free long deployment in another two years. We should be leaving Colorado in two years and hopefully it will be to someplace overseas. The kids will be older and easier to travel.

For all my military friends....the registration for operation purple camp is MArch 16th. It is a great opportunity for kids to participate in a summer camp free of charge. Just google operation purple camp and you will get all the information. I am thinking of registering our oldest for this camp.

Lot has happened

I have been lazy not writing for a couple of weeks. I just have been busy and I know that is not an excuse. The kids are healthy and growing. My Karina lost two teeth and she will be six in 4 days. We are having her birthday at build a bear. She is enjoying her basketball season on Fort Carson and her learn to ice skate lessons. Moira is in basketball and ice skating as well. David is still doing hockey and getting better. My two boys love to watch hockey on the big tv. We recently bought a 2009 Ford Mustang. It is a beauty. It is primarily Tim's car. Our 1995 Honda Accord blew up. All my catholic friends....start thinking about what to give up for Lent. I am going to try to give up sodas. I want to just drink tea, water and juice. I hope that I won't get a bad craving.....will power!!! During lent the kids must attend mass twice a week, Monday and Friday. They attend a catholic school. My parents will be here in several days. They are having their home remodeled and need some place to stay. The kids are anxious.
